When renunciation stems from the fear of physical exertion, it is termed Passional (Rājasic). In such cases, the benefits of renunciation are lost. (18:8)

श्रीभगवान् उवाच
दुःखमित्येव यत्कर्म कायक्लेशभयात्त्यजेत् ।
स कृत्वा राजसं त्यागं नैव त्यागफलं लभेत्॥
