Supreme God Krishna spoke
O, Pārtha! Do not yield to feebleness; it ill suits you. Shake off this base faint-heartedness! Rise, O Vanquisher of Foes, and prepare for battle! (2:3)

श्रीभगवान् उवाच
क्लैब्यं मा स्म गमः पार्थ नैतत्त्वय्युपपद्यते ।
क्षुद्रं हृदयदौर्बल्यं त्यक्त्वोत्तिष्ठ परन्तप ॥

Commentary
Pārtha" means "Son of Prithā," Arjuna. He is called Pārtha because his mother Kunti was known by the name Prithā before being adopted as a daughter by King Kuntibhoja.
