Supreme God Krishna spoke
The mortal beings of this world cannot catch a glimpse of Me, as their cognition is clouded by the states of mind produced by the triadic Modes of Nature, of which I—the Unchangeable and the Imperishable—lie entirely beyond. (7:13)

श्रीभगवान् उवाच
त्रिभिर्गुणमयैर्भावैरेभिः सर्वमिदं जगत् ।
मोहितं नाभिजानाति मामेभ्यः परमव्ययम्॥
Word-by-word
त्रिभिः गुण-मयैः भावैः एभिः, सर्वम् इदम् जगत्मो
हितम्; न अभि-जानाति माम् एभ्यः परम्, अ-व्ययम्।
Commentary
The three Modes of Nature are SattvaGuna, RajoGuna, and TamoGuna. They can be termed as the Noble, Passional, and Ignoble Modes respectively.
