Commentary

Note: Here the Lord has chosen a language that amalgamates the Path of Unattached Action (Karma Yoga) with the Path of Loving Devotion (Bhakti Yoga). Action Yoga (Karma Yoga) may be practiced together with loving devotion to God because, as the Bhāgawata Purāna tells in the eleventh Skandha, while performing actions, mistakes are sometimes committed knowingly or unknowingly, but the loving devotion to God effaces the mistakes.
