Supreme God Krishna spoke
The superior or virtuous (Sāttvic) acts are said to bear noble and serene fruits. The fruit of passional (Rājasic) actions is sorrow, and the fruit of ignoble (Tāmasic) deeds is ignorance. (14:16)

कर्मणः सुकृतस्याहुः सात्त्विकं निर्मलं फलम् ।
रजसस्तु फलं दुःखमज्ञानं तमसः फलम्॥
