Supreme God Krishna spoke
O, Arjuna! Mahad-Brahm {the Unmanifest Nature—Parā-Prakriti} is the womb {for the birth of all beings}, {and} I am the One who sets the seed {of Creation} in that womb, after which all creatures are born. (14:3)

मम योनिर्महद्ब्रह्म तस्मिन्गर्भं दधाम्यहम् ।
सम्भवः सर्वभूतानां ततो भवति भारत॥
Word-by-word
मम योनिः महत्-ब्रह्म, तस्मिन् गर्भम् दधामि अहम्,
सम्भवः सर्व-भूतानाम् ततः भवति भारत।
Commentary
In English, the wife is sometimes called the “better half.” Similarly, God called Nature by the name Mahad-Brahm (Super God). Ultimately, there is no existence of any independent power other than God-the-Supreme. Nature (Prakriti) is also the power and an aspect of God and is subordinate to Brahm. Therefore, in a way, it is also a form of Brahm. In a sense, the mother’s role is more significant in the birth of a child, and therefore the mother’s place for the child is above that of the father. In this sense, Nature has been called Mahad-Brahm. God called Nature Mahad-Brahm, possibly also because of its being “Mahad-Tattvamayi,” or the source of the Mahad or Super Elements that form the basis of the creation of the universe.
