Meaning
Supreme God Krishna spoke
The donation or gift given with disrespect or contempt to the one receiving it, without regard to the place and time, or to an undeserving person, is called Ignoble (Tāmasic) giving. (17:22)

श्रीभगवान् उवाच
अदेशकाले यद्दानमपात्रेभ्यश्च दीयते ।
असत्कृतमवज्ञातं तत्तामसमुदाहृतम्॥
