Supreme God Krishna spoke
Death is inevitable for the living, and birth is inevitable for the dead. Therefore, over the unavoidable, you shouldn't sorrow. (2:27)

श्रीभगवान् उवाच
जातस्य हि ध्रुवो मृत्युर्ध्रुवं जन्म मृतस्य च ।
तस्मादपरिहार्येऽर्थे न त्वं शोचितुमर्हसि ॥
Word-by-word
जातस्य हि ध्रुवः मृत्युः ध्रुवम् जन्म मृतस्य च,
तस्मात् अ-परिहार्ये अर्थे न त्वम् शोचितुम् अर्हसि।।
Commentary
The inevitability of rebirths is the general rule. However, it's crucial to remember that the Gitā also teaches us how to transcend this general inevitability and prevent rebirth.
