Meaning
Supreme God Krishna spoke
O, Arjuna, Scion of Prithā! Fortunate are the Kshatriyas who find themselves presented with such an unsolicited righteous war, for it paves their path to heaven. (2:32)

यदृच्छया चोपपन्नं स्वर्गद्वारमपावृतम् ।
सुखिनः क्षत्रियाः पार्थ लभन्ते युद्धमीदृशम् ॥

यदृच्छया च उप-पन्नम्, स्वर्ग-द्वारम् अप-आवृतम्,
सुखिनः क्षत्रियाः, पार्थ, लभन्ते युद्धम् ईदृशम्!
Commentary
Two important points in the verse require attention. Firstly, only participation in wars fought for righteousness and a just cause earns one entitlement to heaven, not wars fueled by hatred of others, such as jihad, for instance. Wars waged for looting, raping women, territorial expansion, or satisfying individual or national pride are not sanctioned by God. Secondly, while war unavoidably involves violence and bloodshed, the Lord views non-violence as a divine quality (16:2,3) and a violent disposition as a demonic trait.
