Commentary

The science of Meditative Yoga teaches the technique of consciously and deliberately leaving the body at the time and place of one's choice, rather than involuntarily or unknowingly. This enables Yoga practitioners to depart from the body while consciously remembering God. Yogis report two methods for achieving this. Firstly, the Yogi may be informed by the divine forces in advance of the time of their death, allowing them to sit and meditate at that moment, to leave the body while remembering God. Alternatively, the Yogi may personally choose a time of death and demit the body in meditation. However, acquiring this esoteric science is not easy, and not all devotees have access to it; only trained meditative Yogis can master it. Therefore, the alternative method to leave the body with a thriving remembrance of God is to continually chant His name and remember Him. Once silent chanting becomes ingrained in the mind, it continues automatically and unceasingly, ensuring that at the time of death, one can depart with a similar effect as achieved through the esoteric practice of leaving the body while meditating on God.
