Supreme God Krishna spoke
Under my guidance, Nature gives rise to all living beings and inanimate objects, O Son of Kunti! In this manner, the world continues to revolve through alternating cycles of Creation and Dissolution. (9:10)

श्रीभगवान् उवाच
मयाध्यक्षेण प्रकृतिः सूयते सचराचरम् ।
हेतुनानेन कौन्तेय जगद्विपरिवर्तते॥

मया अध्यक्षेण प्रकृतिः सूयते स-चर-अचरम्,
हेतुना अनेन, कौन्तेय, जगत् वि-परिवर्तते।
Commentary
In the Rām-charit-mānas, the poet-sage Tulasidāsa articulates the same principle as found in the Bhagavad-Gitā: "O Rāma, the Lord of the Universe! It is under Your guidance that Your Consort Sitā—representing Nature or Your Power of Creation, Māyā—creates, sustains, and eventually dissolves the universe."—Sruti Setu Pālak Ram tumh Jagadish, Māya Jānaki. Jo srijati jagu pālati harati rukh pāyi Kripānidhān ki.^1
