Supreme God Krishna spoke
O Son of Kunti, please recognize that RajoGuna, infused with passion, is closely associated with desires and attachments. It exerts a strong grip on individuals, compelling them toward actions {and a craving for the outcomes of those actions}. (14:7)

रजो रागात्मकं विद्धि तृष्णासङ्गसमुद्भवम् ।
तन्निबध्नाति कौन्तेय कर्मसङ्गेन देहिनम्॥

रजः राग-आत्मकम् विद्धि तृष्णा-सङ्ग-सम्-उद्भवम्;
तत् नि-बध्नाति, कौन्तेय, कर्म-सङ्गेन देहिनम्।
Commentary
The Bhāgawata Purāna explains RajoGuna in greater detail—desires (कामना), efforts (प्रयत्न), arrogance (मद), longing (तृष्णा), dissatisfaction (असंतोष), airs (अकड़), asking deities for wealth, leaning for sensual pleasures (विषय-भोग), zeal (उत्साह), fondness for name and fame, laughter (हास्य), heroism (पराक्रम), etc. are signs of RajoGuna (Verse 3, Ch. 25, Eleventh Skandha, Bhāgawata Purāna).
